There are many opportunities for wrestling in the CC school district. To start with, the MatCat Wrestling Club, kids pre-K through 6th grade get to work with coaches to learn the basics of wrestling and HAVING FUN. For more information about the MatCats contact Mike Flitsch.
JH wrestling continues the learning of the sport of wrestling while starting to compete in the competative Tri-Rivers Conference to try their skills against quality opponents. Coach Paul Lindley, a Central City grad, works hard to bring the kids along and improve their skills while having a good time.
The high school program is headed up by Cory Vaupel, in his first year at Central City, and he is excited to continue to build on the strong tradition that has produced conference and state champions. The energy level created by the wrestling program continues to produce quality wrestlers, students, and citizens for the community.
